Discreet technology for better living.

What makes a space smart?

A ‘smart’ home or other space is designed from the outset to benefit from the considered implementation of technology, thereby making that space more comfortable, secure and manageable. The technology is integrated into the space during a new-build, renovation or retrofit to make the various technology ‘sub-systems’, which might otherwise be ‘dumb’, instead function together as a smart, unified system. Among these sub-systems are audio and video (AV), lighting, security, heating and climate control, access control, air quality, wellness and more. The same applies to other spaces - offices, hospitality spaces, hotels, private yachts and private jets. These integrated systems can all be controlled and monitored securely at any time and if needed, from anywhere.

“When things work together as part of an overall system rather than on their own, a huge amount more can be achieved and it can be done with far more efficiency.”

Edward O Wilson

Intelligently connected.

For example, instead of all TV screens being isolated in each room with no functionality beyond the individual screens, it’s possible to integrate them in a centralised way where sources such as satellite TV, streaming services, CCTV etc. can be accessed on any or all screens. The same applies to audio, where it can be sent to all or any speakers.

Integrated lighting brings sophistication and control far beyond traditional lighting. A single button tap or voice command can trigger any number of lights in a property (no matter the size) to turn on or off, dim to a desired level or change colour. Lighting can work in response to motion, a rise or drop in natural light or time of day or your circadian rhythm.

Blinds and shades are a breeze. Open or close all or any blinds, rollers, awnings or curtains with ease from your phone, keypad, voice, or have it all automated.

Climate control is more effortless. Heating and cooling can be controlled in separate zones or only when people are present, reducing energy consumption and running costs.

Security systems are more…secure. Check doors and windows are locked with the tap of button. Be notified instantly with live video when unusual activity is detected, or simply when there’s a delivery at the door.

Intelligently designed workspaces enable you to work more efficiently and conduct meetings effortlessly with any number of participants, in person or from anywhere in the world, on any platform.

“Technology is best when it brings people together.”

Matt Mullenweg

More than just a pretty (inter)face.

These are just a few examples of what integrated technology can achieve. In reality, the possibilities are endless and the only limit is the imagination.

It should be noted that by no means does integrated technology have to replace the traditional controls that some may prefer - the good old light switch, the TV remote control and so on. Integrated/smart technology works alongside those traditional controls, catering to the preferences of all types of people using the space.
